Mustang

As the Civil War ended in 1865, Thomas J Howe joined with Michael Lowth and began manufacturing grain-drills and seeders in Owatonna, Minnesota. This led to the creation of Owatonna Manufacturing Company (OMC) in 1888. The company manufactured a variety of agricultural implements and became well known for their striking lime green and red colors.

Fast forward to 2015. This marked the 50th year for the Mustang Skid Steer. The second company to develop and manufacture Skid Steers, OMC embraced the machines. They dove into the market in 1965 with the introduction of the Mustang branded Series 1000. A robust, 30hp machine that was one of the most powerful and versatile of its kind in the 1960’s. In fact an operational example, one of the original 25 (number 18) is on display at the Owatonna Village of Yesteryear.
